The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated “heavy to very heavy” and “extremely heavy” rainfall over a number of states in the coming days.The Met department has predicted “heavy to very heavy” and “extremely heavy” rainfall over parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat in next few days.
At present, the low-pressure area lies over Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining region. Its associated cyclonic circulation is extending up to 7.6 km and tilting southwestwards. This weather system would be intensifying into a depression after 48 hours. It would be moving west/northwestwards.
Due to the influence of this system, most parts of Odisha will witness moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers accompanied with strong winds during the next two to three days. Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh will also get affected the above system. The southern parts of Chhattisgarh are getting affected the cyclonic circulation. And this system would also merge with the above weather system. Hence, during the next 24 hours, moderate rains will occur over parts of Chhattisgarh.
