Teaching Job pressure can be bearable with a good working environment

My Times Today. An year back was my selection happened  in an interview of a college for the post of assistant professor. I felt an overwhelming urge of happiness as it was a new adventure to me, (without my family), and the chance to make a whole new group of friends. It’s just what I needed in my life. I saw many of my friends struggling for the similar jobs.

On the first day you’re able to go to all of these new places and for the first time. Some of them may be on your course and share your interests, you may live with some of them. It’s all a part of the excitement, and the not knowing what’s going to happen next and what the future holds. On that day when i joined old staff of department came to me and tried to provide me support as  this was my very first job. I was even given the freedom to choose few topics of interest to teach so I don’t feel stress in learning and preparing syllabus .

Sometimes i have made mistakes in admin work . But even the higher authorities knew i was new to the work so they supported me but I was under stress.

The worst started after three months suddenly  the old staff started insulting and demotivating me with rude behavior and i was not able to focus on my work and i started getting unstable in my personal  life. They started talking about my flaws and even gossiping but no one talked about my good work, my efforts and my teachings.

I had a feeling of why this is happening in such good institute and department?lot of questions arise in my mind like is something wrong in my behavior or they are unable to accept my way of working? This is a usual feeling at college , although it may seem like a bad one you’re actually just adjusting to your new life.

With no hopes of getting things better in department I started to adjust and accept things the way they are.But one day a new professor joined  department and  she was beautiful, PhD scholar and very expressive in nature.

Looking at her I  was confused thinking that  will she also behave same or will support me in work as she was experienced. Gradually things changed she was the person who was beside me to  smooth and tough times. Even under her guidance i came to learn  administrative work  like conduction of practicals, how to communicate to the external, how to talk because as i have started soo early this profession this was tough for me because.

She helped me in a very positive manner which I never expected because i always thought she is from a high society, she is too much upgraded version of mine that i have started my journey as a fresher but the idea of perception changed and then she suggested me some of the basic things which everyone should follow when they are at their initial stage of their career.

Some tips I learnt as a new teacher:

1. Staying peaceful

2. Staying  quite on the situations where you have no idea what to say.

3. Be positive because it enhances your work efficiency.

4. Ignore the negatives.

5. Keep your knowledge updated as this will help you in the lectures and children will also get good knowledge for any specific topic.

6.sharing is caring it suits when you are sharing with the person.
